The ultimate treasure hunt
In the 1980s casks were buried in plastic containers around the US. A poem and an image were made for each cask. Finding a cask leads to 1,000 dollars and some swag. So far only 2 of 12 have been found. The man who hid them has passed away and even the artist he hired to make the paintings does not know where the casks are located. All we know is that national parks seem to be a theme as well as baseball.
Lets break down the poem line by line.
“Pass to friends of octave” this could be the wright brothers who were friends of octave.
“In december ride the man of oz” this could be the washington/baum bridge because the writer of the wizzard of oz was Baum.
“To the land near the window” in the painting is the clear outline of Roanoke Island, NC. From the north one would pass the wright brothers memorial, get on Baum bridge and head to Roanoke
“There is a road that leads to dark forest where White is in color with two maps, this is probably an image of John White that is at the entrance to Elizabethangardens on Roanoke and he is holding two maps.
“After circle and square” the sidewalk from above is a circle with a square around it.
“In July and August a path beckons to mica and driftwood” probably path to the sound.
“Under that which may be last touched or first seen standing” an old gate by the sound.
“Look north at the wing and dig to achieve by dauntless and inconquerable determenation your goal” dauntless and inconquerable determination is written on the wright brothers memorial and the side of the monument is a wing that can be seen from Roanokr Island ifnyou look northeast.
So is the cask on that beach by the old gate?
